A Poem From 2013: A New Face
WARNING: This is a bit graphic, so read at your own discretion.
A New Face
Scalpel cuts through with ease.
Blood trickles down my face and
drips from my eyes like tears.
The face I have brings me pain.
It reminds me of someone who
threw me away.
Someone who rejected me so
Someone who ripped out my heart
and tore it apart.
I’m almost through removing this old face.
Replacing it with one that is new.
One that won’t remind me of
the pain I feel, and then I can
start to heal.
As I stitch up, I like what I see.
A new face that is finally me.
