So When Is The Next Album Being Released?
“You guys make great music! I have your first three albums! So when is the new one set to be released?”
I have seen a comment similar to this one on a couple of bands’ Facebook pages recently. To me personally, I would be annoyed to be asked that question constantly. Some bands have different work ethics from one to the next. Some release albums one right after the other while others take their time to perfect their music. It’s great to hear new music from our favorite artists, but they are not robots. Bands and solo artists are humans like everyone else; they need some down time. Take into consideration they have personal lives away from the spotlight. Some of them are teachers, have their families to care for or have other side projects they are working on. There are even times when the band members need a break from each other. They are like a family and being around each other 24/7 for long periods of time can work on their nerves. Think about going on a road trip with your parents and siblings, after a few minutes or few hours, everyone starts to get on each other’s nerves. Okay a family road trip and being in a band may not be the same thing, but you get the picture. Being patient for new albums and tour can be hard, but it’s a fact of life. There is a process to everything with recording and mixing an album. The best advice: Stay up-to-date through their site and Facebook page. For the love of all things pure and evil, new music will be released when the time is right!
